Automobile Accidental Death

Richburg man, 23, dies in Chester Co. crash

The Herald

 --

A Richburg man died in a two-car crash Sunday in Chester County.

The crash occurred just after noon on Mountain Gap Road, about eight miles south of Richburg, said Bryan McDougald with the S.C. Highway Patrol.

The 23-year-old man was turning left out onto the roadway from a private drive in his 1999 4-door Hyundai when he and another driver collided, he said. The other driver, a 24-year-old Great Falls man, was traveling north on the road in a 2004 Dodge pick-up.

The victim, whose name was not available, was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced at the scene, McDougald said. Speed is not believed to have been a factor in the crash.

No charges are expected.
